Beyonce's Un-Video Breaks Social Media Records

Beyonce Debuts 'I Was Here' Music Video

Beyoncé's new music video has inspired billions of messages for World Humanitarian Day, breaking a social media record.

The multiple-Grammy-award winning singer recorded her latest music video, ' I was Here', in an effort to encourage people around the world to do a good deed and to share their messages supporting humanitarian work for World Humanitarian Day on Sunday.

"The World Humanitarian Day 2012 campaign has made social media history by sharing more than one billion messages of hope," the UN said in a statement.

In the video, Beyoncé is draped from head-to-toe in a white iridescent gown and is singing from UN headquarters. Throughout the clip there are scenes from recent disasters.

"World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference," said Beyoncé. "This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care."
